OUR VERDICT

The Reebok Harmony road 2 is a highly cushioned trainer built for high miles and comfort. At $120 this shoe is a good buy for someone looking for a recovery day shoe to put in a rotation. This shoe is not well suited for speed work but is great for everyday runs.

WHO IS IT FOR
The Harmony road 2 is a great shoe for slightly larger runners or anyone with sore joints or feet. This shoe would be well suited for middle aged to older runners as well.

Personally, I was a little weary of wearing a shoe from Reebok as I associate Reebok with cross training shoes. I was pleasantly surprised with the Harmony Road 2.

This shoe is a standard 10mm toe drop and weighs in just a little heavy (10.9 Oz). The shoe is very well cushioned which is nice at times but also becomes a downfall as it is very hard to pick up the pace.

Overall, I liked these shoes for recovery days, but they weren’t my favorite. The harmony Road 2 feels like a more cushioned and bulkier version of the Brook’s Ghosts. The shoe has made major strides for Reebok, it still needs a little work though.

Reebok Harmony Road 2 General Info

Reebok Harmony Road 2 - Lateral Side

Reebok Harmony Road 2 – Lateral Side

The Harmony Road 2 is Reeboks version of the Nike Lunar Glide or Brook’s Ghost. At $120 the shoe is in the middle of Reebok’s running line. This shoe would compete well with almost any daily trainer on the market.

The Harmony Road 2 is designed for LSD (Long Slow Distance) which it is great at. This seems like a big step forward for Reebok in becoming a legitimate running brand.

My first impression unboxing the Harmony Road 2 was very positive. The shoe is surprisingly light on foot, especially compared to how it looks.

I really liked the comfort right out of the box. The bottom of the shoe has a unique tread pattern that really grips all surfaces well. It is not the most aesthetically pleasing shoe and reminded me of something I would see an older runner wearing.

Reebok Harmony Road 2 Sole Unit

The TriZone midsole distributes weight well and helps for a smooth ride. The KooshRide TPU foam provides a soft and cushioned ride.

The outsole was one of my favorite aspects of this shoe as the highly abrasive outsole provides extreme traction. This shoe had the best traction of any non-trail shoe I have ever worn.

This shoe’s cushioning was unique as it had a very rubbery feeling feel to it. I would compare the feeling to that of the rubber flooring often used on playgrounds. Overall this shoe’s sole unit is very comfortable.

Reebok Harmony Road 2 Upper Info

This shoe seems to run slightly wide in the toe box with the midfoot and heel feeling average sized. The upper is made of SmoothFuse a slightly stretchy mesh that is extremely breathable.

The upper is extremely comfortable and the tongue is equipped with a good bit of cushioning. This shoe also has a very comfortable heel collar that locks down well on the foot while providing a fair amount of heel cushioning.

Reebok Harmony Road 2 - Heel

My one complaint with the upper is the laces, which caused some discomfort when laced tightly. The laces also rip easily as does the upper if it encounters rocks or branches during runs.

Reebok Harmony Road 2 Conclusions

I enjoyed these shoes, but I do not think I will be buying them again. They do make great hiking shoes with amazing traction and comfort. They are just too cumbersome and bulky for my taste.

I will commend Reebok on these shoes as they delivered exactly what they claimed this shoe was. It is very good at running long miles at a slower pace.

I think someone who is looking for a shoe for the slower over distance runs would have a great time in these shoes. However, do not plan to do tempo runs or intervals in these shoes.

Overall, this shoe is great progress for Reebok in becoming a force in the running world.
